Hi, I'm Ryan! I graduated from high school in 2026, and I will be starting at McGill University in the fall to study math and finance. Throughout high school, I regularly helped friends and classmates with their math classes and SAT preparation, which is where I first realized how much I enjoy teaching. Those experiences showed me that explaining concepts in a clear, simple way can make a huge difference in a student’s confidence and performance, and that’s something I aim to bring into every lesson.
I scored a 1580 on the SAT, with a 790 in both the Math and Reading/Writing sections, and I tutor both areas. When I work with students, I focus not just on content, but on the specific strategies that the SAT rewards. I use official College Board materials along with techniques I’ve developed from tutoring others to help students manage time and avoid common mistakes on the SAT. I also adapt my approach depending on the student, so sessions are always tailored to how each person learns best.
Most of my experience has been in one-on-one settings, both in person and online, which I’ve found to be the most effective way to focus on individual strengths and weaknesses. In addition to tutoring, I have completed over one hundred hours of volunteer service at a local park, where I led groups of students in organized activities. That experience helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills that carry over into tutoring. My goal is to make sure every student I work with feels prepared, capable, and confident going into their exam.
