Hello! My name is Bryleigh. I graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Biology. I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn allows me to influence life-long learning. Starting in high school, I was a tutor for third graders, mainly focusing on math and reading skills. This experience influenced my high score on the ACT, where I scored 34 out of 36. Throughout college, I was in a Health Promotion and Wellness organization, where the main objective was to educate and mentor our peers on health literacy, resources, and lifestyle. Due to my love of all subjects, I assumed the role of an essay proofreader for many of my classes to shape my peers' writing to a proficient level. I participated in a group where we tutored biology to middle schoolers at the Boys and Girls Club. In this role, I developed age-appropriate lesson plans and activities, presented the lessons, and gathered data on the efficiency of the material. In my most recent experience as a Substitute Teacher, I mainly focused on working with special needs children and adolescents. During my time, I tutored a variety of subjects to grades K-12, including algebra, and high school and middle school English, reading, science, and math. I also did a large portion of ACT Prep, including practice tests and test-taking tips and strategies. These roles included one-on-one tutoring and classroom settings. Throughout my various experiences, I have developed the skills necessary to help children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds strengthen their academic abilities while enjoying learning. Proper communication, different learning methods, patience, and a positive attitude are a few of the skills I would bring to a tutoring session. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
