My name is Alisha. I have a B.S. in Mathematics education as well as an M ED in Mathematics both from the University of West Alabama. I graduated in 2015 and 2018 respectively. I have had a valid Alabama teaching certificate since January of 2016. I completed my Ed.S in December 2024.

I have been teaching since January of 2016. 7 years of teaching math to 7th - 12th grade students. I started tutoring math when I was in the 7th grade myself so that is 15 years of tutoring experience. I have taught 7th grade, 8th grade, Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebraic Connections, Algebra with Finance, and ACT Prep. While in college I tutored in our math department everything from remedial algebra to Calculus 3. I have extensive training with AMSTI which is an organization in Alabama that helps math and science teachers teach in more hands on ways. I also hold a NISE STEM certificate for using cross curriculum in the classroom.

I have taught in a large school as well as a small school so I am accustomed to adjusting my teaching style at the drop of a hat. I have also taught classes that were a range of skill levels in one room. I have tutored single students up to large groups of students. I work an afterschool program in my district which has me helping preK- 6th grade students with homework and coursework in all subjects.

Great tutor

Very flexible with our scheduling! We had to change the time by 20 min because she had last min cheer practice and Alisha was super nice and accommodating. Genevieve liked working with her. Would recommend.

Helpful to both personalities
