I started tutoring when I was 16 at my local YMCA, helping middle and high school students with chemistry, math, and general homework. This early experience taught me how to explain ideas clearly and help students feel comfortable asking questions. I started tutoring when I was 16 at my local YMCA, helping middle and high school students with chemistry, math, and general homework. This early experience taught me how to explain ideas clearly and help students feel comfortable asking questions. In college, I continued working with students as a peer mentor specifically in Organic Chemistry, where I helped classmates understand reactions, mechanisms, and how to approach harder problems.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a Health Sciences concentration. I have worked as a pharmacy technician and as a student researcher in environmental chemistry and antibiotic studies. I am currently a Chemist I for the State of Alabama, where I perform laboratory testing and analyze scientific data every day. This real lab experience allows me to give students practical examples that make chemistry easier to understand.
I also taught seventh grade math, which strengthened my ability to explain topics in simple steps and work with students who learn in different ways. Through early tutoring, peer mentoring, classroom teaching, and laboratory work, I have supported students from middle school through college.
My tutoring style is patient, clear, and focused on helping students build confidence. I explain each topic in simple terms, work through examples with students, and give helpful strategies for solving problems on their own. I specialize in General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, lab calculations, and lab report help.
I look forward to helping students understand their coursework, prepare for tests, and feel more confident in chemistry.
