As an educator, I have the world’s most important job. I hold within my hands the most powerful tools, the power to educate. I strongly believe that it is my job to build up and not tear down. I believe that there are good qualities in every individual and that everyone is capable of learning something. As an educator, it is up to me to recognize that potential and to work hard to bring every student and staff member to his or her level of potential. I must be able to assist students in achieving their academic goals, improve learning skills, and provide support in every possible way.
I have developed a passion for helping students and pushing them to utilize their critical thinking skills and be able to process information and problem solve effectively. Students can reflect on their own learning experiences and be able to translate their learning to real-life experiences.
I have an EdD from Walden University, a Masters from Troy University, and a Psychology degree from Auburn University. I have a love for elementary math and did teach it in my career as an educator. I have been successful in providing students with reading strategies necessary for their future growth and success in reading.
