I have over 16 years of teaching experience mostly on the middle and high school level, as well as experience tutoring and working with kids on the elementary level. I have a B.S. in History and Political Science with Secondary Education and I have a Masters Degree in Classroom Technology. This has helped to keep me on the cutting edge of the 21st Century Classroom and its expectations.
I am also an experienced writer that has had poetry and short stories published and I have extensive experience writing articles for newspapers and magazines, both online and print. Beyond that, I have coached sports from youth to pro for over 20 years and that has only added to my understanding of the various needs for learning at different levels. These experiences have gave me a sense of empathy and ability to connect to learners so that they can achieve higher levels of success.
With tutoring specifically, I have worked with learners on and off in a tutoring setting throughout my educational journey. I have mentored youth in various programs and have experience in every subject on the elementary level. On the middle and high school level, I have extensive experience in test prep and strategies, having several years of classroom time spent preparing students for standardized testing and have taught every core subject at some point in my career, with most of my experience being in the social sciences. Beyond high school I have worked with college students, especially in the area of writing, and have helped adults in obtaining their GED as well.
