Hi I'm Jordan! I recently graduated with my PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Florida, where I found that I have a passion for teaching. Many of my teaching assignments covered classes with new college students from a range of majors, and I loved watching my students become more and more excited about science and biology as the semester progressed. I have found that the key to student success is fostering curiosity and connection with a topic- helping my students first understand a topic, then encouraging them to keep exploring has been an effective strategy that helped all my students grow as scholars and as critical thinkers.
My teaching experience is predominantly with early college students and upper level high-school students. I have a broad knowledge base in Biology, Ecology, Human Anatomy, and Anthropology and a history of working with students on these topics in both group and individualized settings. As a researcher, I also have extensive experience in Statistics and in writing code with the R statistical language.
I really enjoy working with students and helping them discover a passion for science. If you would like anymore information or have any questions, I would be happy to talk with you so feel free to send me a message!
