Hello! I am Kierra Jones M.Ed. I am currently in my eighth year as an educator. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery and my Master’s degree from Faulkner University, where I majored in Secondary Education with a focus in English. I began my teaching career as an 8th grade ELA teacher, where I spent three years. I continued on to teach 9th grade ELA for a year, as well as Creative Writing. More recently, I transitioned into a Career Tech position, as a JAG specialist, where I spent three years focusing on teaching kids with barriers soft skills, as well as helped them map out individualized plans for their lives after high school. Currently, I am back in the eighth grade classroom teaching ELA again.
I have taught students from the 8th to twelfth grade level from various backgrounds. Some practices I am effective at using are differentiated instruction, meant to meet the needs of all students, as well as Tier 2 & Tier 3 instruction, meant to provide extra support in areas of weakness.
