Hi! My name is Adhvika, and I currently attend The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am majoring in Public Health, and I am also part of the Honors College. During past semesters, I have been a part of the UAB Teach program, where I have gained a significant amount of knowledge about different teaching methods and working with students in general. Through this program, I took part in an internship in which I tutored middle schoolers (7th-8th graders) on a variety of math topics. Although I am open to taking clients in person, I am mostly online-based.
The main areas in which I offer tutoring are ACT English, elementary/middle school math, and General Chemistry (college or high school level). I scored a 35 on my ACT English section, so I am well-versed in the content, and I learned a number of strategies to best tackle the test during the time I was taking it myself. As far as elementary/middle school math goes, I feel confident in providing tutoring services for these subjects because of my participation in the UAB Teach program. About once a week, my group and I had to go to our assigned elementary or middle school and teach a group of students a demo lesson on a different scientific or mathematical topic. Finally, I received the excellence in general chemistry award during my time in UAB, so I feel that I would be well qualified to teach any topic in general chemistry.
