I love teaching! I’ve been teaching Mathematics for four years, but I’ve been tutoring for almost an entire decade.

I have 9+ years experience with all types of Mathematics tutoring from grades 6-12 and undergraduate studies. I have 9+ years experience with all types of Mathematics tutoring from grades 6-12 and undergraduate studies. Although I am experienced in all topics, I specialize in Algebra - whether it be procedural topics (like factoring, solving systems of equations, etc.), or more abstract topics like Abstract Algebra, Complex Analysis, etc. Geometry is a close second - especially when it comes to test prep and topic breakdowns! I am a very visual/kinesthetic learner so this is typically my approach within the average session.

I believe that there is no concept too hard to grasp and it is my lifelong mission to spread that to my students! I am compassionate and patient by nature, but also headstrong in achieving this goal. Thus I am proficient at meeting the student where they are! I am not deterred by any skill level and it is my firm belief that the seemingly impossible in Math can become not only possible, but easy!

I took and excelled all high school Algebra courses, as well as College Algebra. It is high school where I first gained a love of all things algebraic! I am also well versed in Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra and all related undergrad Algebra subjects. I tutored heavily in Algebra both during and after my undergrad studies.

My first years (before changing primarily to Math) were in Elementary Education! I took classes pertaining to Elementary Mathematics as well as a variety of other topics. I have experience working with younger children through Upward Bound as well as the Boys and Girls Club.

I have sufficient experience tutoring in Geometry (4+ years). I also teach Geometry from a sizeable portion of my school's curriculum to 8th graders. I am proficient in both conceptual and procedural teaching when it comes to this area!

With my experience in tutoring Pure Mathematics, I have a great understanding of logic! This applies to truth tables, lemmas and theorems and different types of logistical statements. I also have a wealth of experience with understanding problems on a conceptual level and how to complete logic proofs.

Regarding Pre-Algebra - I have tutored this subject from 6th grade all the way up to graduating Seniors. At any given moment during school hours, I am teaching something Pre-Algebra related to my middle schoolers (6-8th). I am also equipped to teach this subject both conceptually and procedurally and will use whatever tool(s) it takes to provide a strong foundation of understanding.

During the latter half of my undergrad, I worked one on one (through Upward Bound) to analyze text responses for high schoolers. I viewed and made real-time suggestions to various forms of their essays, helping them to refine their unique writing styles. Regarding ACT prep, I aided in their revision of sentence/paragraph structure, topic/thesis sentences, grammar, syntax as well as a myriad of other writing staples.
