I have a Bachelors degree in both English and Spanish from Jacksonville State University and a Master's degree in Spanish Education from Auburn University. I was pursuing a degree in Mass Communication when I realized that if I took ONE more course in English and ONE more course in Spanish, then I would have a double major. I graduated lacking ONE course to obtain the degree I was actually pursuing.
Recently I retired with 25 of service working in Alabama's public schools. Teaching was a joy for me. During the last half of my teaching career I took my students to the annual Spanish competition. Though we got many other awards, we came home with a grammar award every time!
Having taught for so many years, I learned that students don't all learn in the same way. So, if they didn't understand a concept I would regroup and teach it in a different way. I believe that every child can learn -- with the right teacher.
