I enjoy helping students understand scientific concepts and develop scientific reasoning skills. I have taught all science subjects but recently my focus has been in the areas of chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and nursing. I have two degrees in education, BS and MEd, that include extensive hours of biology with undergraduate and some graduate hours in chemistry. I am also certified in AP chemistry and AP biology. I am IB biology trained and wrote a standard and higher level International Biology program for a school. In 2012 I received a nursing degree, BSRN, through the accelerated nursing program at the University of South Alabama. For four years I was the ACT science instructor through the continuing education program at the University of South Alabama.

Tutoring gives me an opportunity discern a student's understanding and possible misconceptions of topics. Students are usually more receptive of help when they can discuss their needs in private. I enjoy the moments of enlightenment as students connect concepts and develop reasoning skills to apply and construct scientific ideas.

I am certified and highly qualified in biology, human anatomy & physiology, chemistry, physics, AP biology & chemistry, IB biology Level I, physical science, marine biology, and Earth science. I also taught the ACT science prep course for four years through the University of South Alabama's Continuing Education program.

I have tutored locally but I look forward to tutoring online as well. Recently I have concentrated a great deal of time in participating in AP chemistry workshops to enhance my knowledge of the AP chemistry coursework and topics.
