More than just a subject tutor

I am very passionate about teaching students how to learn. I am a graduate of Jacksonville State University where I worked in the learning services department teaching study skills techniques to incoming freshmen. Interestingly, I learned these techniques as I was teaching them. I then used these techniques to prepare myself for passing the GRE and then boosted my GPA by over a point while earning my Master's degree.

Social Sciences are my specialty with my biggest passion being in government. However, I am also very good with language arts, reading, and vocabulary. I will spend a lot of time making sure the student has a firm grasp on the vocabulary, because that will lead to gaining skills in the other areas of the subject.

I was very successful in writing papers both in the undergrad and graduate levels in college. I passed the English Competency Exam at Jacksonville State with no issues. I also helped a lot of my fellow students in writing their research papers and essays in college.

I was able to pass the GRE on the first attempt with a very solid score. I can take the techniques I used in my success on the GRE and pass them along to you.

I have taught U.S. History, World History, Government, Sociology, and Social Issues. I have even written the curriculum for a couple of these courses. I have a great passion for history and government and will challenge you to develop a passion for them as well.
