I am a professional software engineer with over three years of experience with React and Java technologies. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The University of the South, where I gained a strong foundation in programming, data structures, algorithms, and more. I am currently enrolled in a Master’s program at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where I will study AI Policy and Eurasian affairs starting in the Fall. Additionally, I am proficient in Russian, having majored in it and received prestigious scholarships for its study.

I have been tutoring for over six years, both informally and formally. I started as a freelance tutor in high school, helping community college students with English. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored part-time in Russian language and Public Speaking. After graduation, I worked as an ESL tutor for Ukrainian refugees for two years. I’ve tutored high school, college students, and adult learners, focusing on language skills and technical subjects. Additionally, I mentor junior software engineers at my current job, which enhances my ability to explain complex technical concepts.

My tutoring approach is highly personalized, focusing on breaking down complex ideas into digestible pieces and using real-world examples. I strive to create a comfortable yet structured learning environment, encouraging students to ask questions and challenge themselves. I incorporate hands-on coding exercises, interactive problem-solving, and language practice to make learning engaging. One of my favorite activities is tailoring lessons to the student's interests, such as using a political article in Russian to work on translation and comprehension skills.
