Hi! I’ve been an online English and writing tutor for over 4 years! I have a BS in English and an MFA in Creative Writing. The students I’ve taught range from K-12, college, and graduate. I love working with all ages and can easily adjust my learning style. I can help students with citations, formatting, and the organization and clarity of their essays. In addition, I proofread and edit documents.

Since I have a degree in creative writing, I really enjoy helping with stories and other creative pieces that students have written. I provide comments and tips on improving elements of their stories such as character development and dialogue. I also like to use storytelling in my lessons with children to improve their reading skills. When tutoring children, I aim to keep them engaged by incorporating topics that interest them, especially when it comes to memorization and spelling.

Patience, kindness, and understanding are key elements of my tutoring sessions along with guiding the student and achieving the specific goals they have. I know that each student learns in a variety of ways, so I make sure to work at the student’s pace and make the learning experience more enjoyable. I also provide reassurance and comfort. One of the best parts of tutoring is watching students improve their skills and being a part of that process. It’s very rewarding and what makes me passionate about tutoring!
