Graduated from University of Toledo with a Bachelor's in Adolescent Young Adult Education with a concentration in Integrated Mathematics. I also graduated with a Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics. I believe having a degree in the content are you are teaching is really important to be able to go above and beyond teaching the what to do and why you do the steps you do. If students understand the why of mathematics they can then apply it to different situations outside of textbook problems....

I taught High School Honors Pre-calculus, Honors Trigonometry, and AP Calculus AB/BC for 6 years. I averaged a 95% passage rate on the AP calculus exam with my students. I have a master's in Aerospace engineering again relying heavily on my mathematical background.

I left teaching when the pandemic started and work for NASA now.

what I enjoy most about teaching is meeting with a student who is completely lost and then helping them have that "aha moment" after a 30, 45, or 60+ minute session.

I scored a 36 on the Math ACT and prepared the Juniors I taught on best practices of the ACT. I taught as stated above AP calculus, Honors Precalculus, and Trigonometry which also allows me to teach lower subject such as Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II

Excellent tutor!!! The best!

We are so lucky to have found John to help our daughter with her AP Calculus math class, and also for ACT/SAT prep. He's a math genius that's kind and patient enough to help spread his knowledge and expertise to others in need. We would gladly pay more than double what he charges for his incredible knowledge and teaching method. Our daughter's grades are coming up tremendously and quickly. Great tutor, my daughter says he is able to explain concepts that she could not understand from her teacher. Her teacher’s advice was to review chapter videos which didn’t help. Since working with John my daughter’s grade in calculus has gone up. I only wish we had started tutor sessions with John sooner!
