I am an educator and musician with over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages in classroom and one-on-one settings. I earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in TESOL and World Language Education from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Global Studies from Samford University. I am also a certified DELE A1-A2 Spanish examiner through Instituto Cervantes. My education and professional experience have prepared me to teach Spanish, English, and violin while adapting instruction to each student's learning style, strengths, and goals.
Throughout my career, I have taught children, teenagers, and adults in private schools, language institutes, universities, nonprofit organizations, and through private tutoring. My English and Spanish teaching experience includes conversation, grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, and language development for beginning through advanced learners. I have extensive experience supporting multilingual learners, immigrant families, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds as they build confidence in a new language and culture. As a violinist, I have provided private lessons for beginning students, helping them develop strong fundamentals, music reading skills, performance confidence, and enjoyable practice habits. My experience includes classroom instruction, small-group learning, one-on-one tutoring, and volunteer mentoring.
What sets me apart is my trauma-informed, relationship-centered approach. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, respected, and encouraged. I am especially passionate about helping multilingual learners and students from immigrant communities feel seen, understood, and capable of succeeding. I tailor every lesson to each student's age, experience level, interests, and goals using clear instruction, guided practice, and positive encouragement. My goal is to help students master English, Spanish, or violin while building confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
