I am currently completing my degree in education at Western Governors University, where I have successfully finished all required coursework and am now in the final phase of my program. I will complete my student teaching in October of this year. My academic training has provided me with a strong foundation in instructional planning, assessment strategies, classroom management, and differentiated instruction. Throughout my program, I have completed in-class field experiences that allowed me to work directly with students and apply evidence-based teaching practices in real classroom settings.
During my field experience and student teaching preparation, I have worked with students in a classroom setting across a range of learning abilities. I have supported students through small-group instruction as well as one-on-one assistance, helping reinforce key concepts, clarify misunderstandings, and build academic confidence. My approach focuses on breaking complex topics into manageable steps, checking for understanding frequently, and adjusting instruction based on each student’s individual learning style. I believe that patience, consistency, and clear communication are essential to helping students feel safe and supported while learning.
As a tutor, I aim to create a structured yet encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I use guided practice, modeling, and real-world connections to help students not only master the material but truly understand it. My goal is always to help students build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, and develop independent learning habits that will support them long after our sessions end.
