I am passionate about helping students learn about corporate finance. I enjoy helping students understand how companies make decisions based on sound financial analysis and bringing real world examples and experience to academic problems. I have specific experience with risk/reward, time value of money, PV, FV, NPV, cost of capital, free cash flows, discounted cash flows, stock and bond valuation, and capital budgeting.

I have 26 years of management and leadership experience at UPS and UPS Capital, the financial services subsidiary. I established the finance and accounting team at UPS Capital and then ran the international operations from the UK and finished my career as Head of Strategy. I have an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University where I also studied abroad at JKU in Linz, Austria and interned at P&G Austria in Vienna. I have a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. I enjoyed teaching English to Austrian students and have guest lectured on business strategy and finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the US. I have been tutoring corporate finance students on-line at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education levels since August 2023.

I have extensive experience around business strategy and developing financial models to analyze those strategies. As a member of the first corporate strategy group at UPS, it was imperative that all team members understood all of the different facets of the UPS business model, the competitive landscape, and evolving customer needs. I developed expertise in business strategy, finance, operations, sales, marketing, human resources, IT strategies, Customer Experience, and Employee Engagement through various positions at UPS Capital, the financial services subsidiary of UPS. As a part of the leadership team at UPS Capital, I helped establish the business processes and culture to grow the business from the ground floor with no customers to one of the fastest growing and most profitable subsidiaries within UPS.

I enjoy working with undergraduate, graduate and executive MBA students and have helped many work through financial concepts, solve homework problems and prepare for exams. I simplify what many professors make complex and can show how to complete problems in excel manually, with the excel functions and with financial calculators. I have extensive real world work experience at UPS and UPS Capital where I was the CFO. I worked on acquisitions and developed the WACC for UPS to use for its stock valuation model.
