But I’m not just technical — I’m also highly creative. I hold a BA in Theatre (Acting & Directing), and I’m a classically trained vocalist. Prior to that, I completed numerous theology and pre-seminary courses during my undergraduate studies at Concordia University Irvine. As many people do, I began my desktop publishing history with Microsoft Publisher...back in 1997 where it was a required module in my middle-school computer class. I gained more training and experience throughout high school as well. Since my days of solely relying on Microsoft Publisher, I have moved on to use more powerful tools, like Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Figma. Professionally, I have designed or aided in the design of restaurant menus, websites, mobile apps, desktop apps, books, magazines, pamphlets, directories, programs (such as for theatrical plays), posters, signs, fliers, custom-printed merchandise, and even logo design. You name it and I've likely got experience working on such a project. A notable project I can think of, off hand, is the parent/student directory that I was hired to design and lay out for the PTA at Newport Beach Elementary in Newport Beach, California.

Since then, I have focused a lot more time and effort into truly becoming a PHP expert. According to LinkedIn, I am among the top 5% of people who've successfully completed their PHP assessment. I believe that clearly demonstrates my level of expertise with the PHP language.

My Undergraduate studies (BA Theatre: Acting & Directing) encompass skills necessary to, not only publicly articulate thoughts and ideas myself, but also to train others how to do the same; namely how to speak in front of groups of people. I have successfully tutored a number of people, as young as high school students, on how to master public speaking. In addition, my abilities to research and write on an advanced level are key in helping students prepare material that is engaging and relevant to the topic they are presenting.

I began working with Python in 2017, but my coding experience stretches back 27+ years. As an instructor of Python, I have taught the language to numerous students of varying ages. My focus is always ensuring that my students understand the fundamentals of writing proper, efficient, clean code—not just simply how to code with Python. My students are taught how they could, technically, leverage nearly any programming language with very little resistance, because they confidently understand the underlying fundamentals of writing code—which are, in fact, language agnostic.

My reading skills have seen me through 13 years of grade school, four years of Undergraduate studies, and are now being utilized to complete Graduate studies. Additionally, I have experience with a myriad of web design tools that stretches all the way back to Microsoft Frontpage and all the way up to Figma in modern times. Naturally, I also have quite a bit of experience working with all of the most common Adobe products as well. Moreover, I understand design trends and general design practices.
