Hello, my name is Layla. I have a Bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. After university, I received my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification in Cusco, Peru. I have been teaching English for a total of eight years. I have taught in Peru, South Korea, Mexico, and Guatemala! I always strive to make learning fun and engaging for students. I have been learning to speak Spanish and Korean, so I can relate to the difficulties of learning a foreign language. In my free time, I love to travel, watch movies, and play soccer! I can't wait to meet you!

Since 2013, I have also taught across all different levels and ages. I can help with grammar, pronunciation, speaking, or writing. No matter what students are hoping to improve, I can help students meet their goals! I encourage students and parents to communicate expectations to me, and I will tailor my classes to meet their needs! I am fluent in Spanish as well so I can assist with any translation needs.

For me, it is super important for me to get to know my students so that I can prepare classes that are engaging and interesting. I usually start each class by reviewing the materials and asking questions to check students' understanding. I am very patient because I want students to understand that it's okay to make mistakes, that is just part of the learning process. So go ahead, and book a class with me!
