My name is Jeffrey and I am an organic chemist. I got my B.S. in Biochemistry and my Master's in Organic Chemistry. During my undergraduate career I tutored over 100 students in organic chemistry 1 & 2, never having a student fail the courses. During my graduate studies, I taught the organic chemistry 2 labs and was a substitute lecturer for both organic 1 and 2 lecture classes. My research in graduate school focused on the design, synthesis, and analysis of small molecules as active drug candidates for antibiotics. During undergrad I completed several summer research programs in labs and after graduate school I worked as a large-scale organic chemist for a biotech company performing large-scale reactions to synthesize compounds with reaction schemes as long as 18 steps successfully.
I know how to teach organic well because I know how to do organic chemistry in a lab, performing thousands of reactions and not just have memorized material from a book. I tutored graduate students in grad school as well. Given the large number of students I've helped, labs I've taught, and even lecture classes I've taught, I guarantee anything that is throwing you for a loop I've helped someone understand that same problem. Organic is my favorite subject, and I can help you see how cool it is while making better grades to help you pursue whatever academic goals you have for yourself.
