My expertise spans film critical studies, scriptwriting, media and film history, video editing, documentary film production, cinematography, camera operation, audio production, mass communication, writing for mass media, music video production, English, reading comprehension, media literacy, and creative writing. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Film & Video from The Savannah College of Art and Design. and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama. In addition to my academic background, I am Apple-certified and bring over 18 years of professional experience as a creative director and film festival programmer. I also provide specialized tutoring in scriptwriting software and Adobe Premiere Pro, helping students build both technical proficiency and creative confidence.

My tutoring approach is centered on making learning engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. With more than 20 years of teaching experience in media post-production, I specialize in developing advanced editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro. My career spans the full evolution of editing - from analog suites to Avid and Final Cut Pro 7, to modern digital workflows. I have taught both narrative and documentary editing, emphasizing story structure, pacing, and professional techniques. I also teach experimental and music video editing. I help students build industry-ready skills while refining their creative voice.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching creative writing, storytelling, and scriptwriting to high school and college students. I have a professional background in filmmaking and screenwriting, with several produced short films and scripts, which informs my teaching of story structure and character development. I have published an essay in The Decline of Mall Civilization, contributed to Film Threat magazine for two years, and have won multiple scriptwriting awards. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Master’s Degree in Film from the University of Alabama; my thesis, Children and Adolescence in Cinematic Horror, is being revised for consideration by McMillan Press. I specialize in guiding students through the full filmmaking process, from pre-production and producing to final edit. My professional background includes work in advertising as well as serving as a creative director in film festival and cinema environments, along with producing over 100 commercial projects. I combine real-world experience with a strong focus on storytelling, helping students develop both creative and technical skills.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching music history, appreciation, and audio production to students of all levels. I specialize in music video production, podcasting, sound design, and music curation, combining academic knowledge with hands-on media experience. I have conducted workshops on music history and production, worked on professional audio projects, curated playlists and programs for numerous organizations, and performed professionally as a DJ. My courses explore the development of musical styles, key artists and composers, and the cultural and social contexts that shape music, while emphasizing practical listening, production, and storytelling skills. I aim to help students develop a deep understanding of music’s history, its cultural significance, and its creative applications, preparing them to engage with music both analytically and professionally.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching photography and visual media, with expertise in traditional darkroom techniques, DSLR and digital photography, and alternative formats. I also guide students in using everyday tools, including smartphones, to create compelling images, helping them see the creative potential in any camera. Professionally, I have worked as a Photo Producer for a New York–based advertising agency, giving me hands-on experience in creative direction, production workflow, and professional standards. In my teaching, I emphasize composition, conceptualization, and visual storytelling, helping students develop technical mastery while refining their personal style and creative vision.
