Hey there! My name is Shae, and I am a first-year Neuroscience student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Hey there! My name is Shae, and I am a first-year Neuroscience student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a student, I understand how it feels to be stuck on subjects you cannot seem to understand or to be stopped by writer's block. Throughout my academic career, I have excelled in courses such as English Composition 101 & 102 and Psychology 101, which have helped me develop a solid understanding of the basics of proofreading and essay writing, as well as general psychology. Although I am new to tutoring, I have experience helping my peers prepare for exams, reviewing challenging topics, and proofreading and providing feedback on essays.
When tutoring, I aim to create a relaxed environment that helps redefine what studying means to many students by encouraging them to embrace mistakes a natural part of the learning process and by creating a space for them to think freely. To me, the key to success is to learn to enjoy learning, and I strive to help my students do the same. I am eager to review essays, lecture material, and homework with my students and help them learn skills and strategies that can not only assist them in their academic journey but also in their professional and personal lives.
In the end, I strive to see my students succeed. My favorite teachers and mentors in life have been those who go above and beyond to provide me with transferable skills and lessons, and those who cultivate a safe learning environment. I hope that I can do the same for you!
