I’m Malvin! I graduated from American Military University (AMU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. I also attended Grambling State University (GSU) studying Computer Science. I served in the United States Navy for 27 years as a Naval Officer traveling and working in many countries. After retirement, I got a TEFL certification to help continue helping others learn the English language.
I have over six years of teaching and tutoring English to foreign students in the Middle East and European countries while I was in the military as well as teaching military members with English being their second language. Over the past 18 years, I have also tutored many military members helping them to receive their college degrees. I have taught age groups ranging from 12 to adults. My teaching style has been to deliver student-centered, engaging instruction in multicultural settings. The focus has been in A1–C1 ESL instruction, vocabulary, interactive online lessons, culturally responsive teaching and grammar basics.
For me, this has been a dream to be able to help others learn a second language. I now help English learners grow in confidence and fluency.
