I have loved school and learning and notebooks and pencils and schedules and calendars for my whole life! My love of school and all the things surrounding it has led me to a lifetime of learning and it has given me a career (or two or three) centered around teaching, communications and training others.
I’m a 1989 Samford University graduate where I got my degree in English & Psychology and a Secondary Teaching Certification. And, when my first job in a high school included installing and implementing computers in the classroom (that was a brand new idea then), I studied Educational Technology at Johns Hopkins University where I received a Master’s Degree in 1993.
In 2000, I left my job in education to become a stay-at-home mom. In 2014, I became an Administrative Assistant for the Women’s Minister at our church and that led me into a variety of roles and responsibilities including: Live Stream Host, Social Media Coordinator, Podcast Producer & Host and Communications Project Coordinator. In all my roles, I have been a teacher, encourager and coach. What a blessing it is to be able to make a living doing the things I love!
When the pandemic and its aftermath presented me with some opportunities to work 1:1 with students that were struggling with anxiety, personal organization, time management, ADHD and executive functioning skills, I began a more formal coaching role and found a great need in that area. So, I left my job on the church staff to start a full-time coaching business for individuals struggling in those areas.
On the personal side, my husband and I have been married since 1997. We are the parents of two adult children and the caretakers of one cat. When I’m not working, enjoy gardening, traveling, reading, sketching and listening to podcasts. I’m committed to my Christian faith and I’m an active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church where I serve in the nursery and host “Everywhere You Are”, a podcast produced by the Dawson Women’s Ministry.
