I’m Brea! I am a mechanical engineering major in one of the top ten engineering programs in the country. I have been a peer tutor for over six years. As I’ve taught people from ages 12–20 around me, I’ve learned that, when teaching, it is important to be engaged in a way more exciting than simply solving problems and answering questions. It takes seeing how a subject can be great to truly want to learn.
I specialize in engaging with my students by bringing their attention to the “cool” side of any subject, be it the way algebra and calculus can describe any shape and convey an infinite combination of information, or how writing follows patterns in research and literary analysis that cover every aspect of a subject simply by wording it correctly. I have a love for learning born not from course loads but from the effects knowledge has on my life, and it is my goal to share this passion with others by helping them achieve things they may not even know they’re capable of.
