Hi, I’m Gabriel! I graduated from Penn State with bachelor’s degrees in both Math and Physics, and since that wasn’t enough I’m now at Auburn University working towards a physics PhD. Through my academic career, I’ve taught college physics courses and helped officially tutor students in association with programs like the ROTC. On top of that, I’ve worked one-on-one with folks in high school through undergrad helping them achieve their academic goals, whether that exam prep, bumping up a grade, or finally getting that one tricky topic. When I work with people, I like to start from the strategies and styles that worked for me when I learned physics for the first time, while making sure to offer support and encouragement as a student works through that tough material. When students come to me, I try to start with the student and their current understanding. From there, I can help them figure out what’s not clicking and build up their confidence with the problems at hand.
I have tutored students for several years at this point. I have a year’s experience teaching introductory physics labs while providing office hours and one-on-one support to struggling students. I have a year’s experience working with the ROTC at Auburn as a dedicated physics tutor. On top of that, I’ve worked with students in college physics courses and high school students looking to shore up their AP exam performance. Because of the nature of physics, I’ve often served as a math tutor, helping students with their algebra (both standard and linear), calculus and differential equations as needed.
I really enjoy tutoring people. As someone who has fought through these difficult subjects, it always feels wonderful to see a student get that spark of understanding as they start mastering something that seemed so tough not that long ago. I also want to make the tutoring experience as easy and painless as possible. I’m easy to contact and flexible in my schedule. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to talk about a lesson!
