Hey y'all! I'm Megan. I hold a master's degree in theological studies from Emory, as well as bachelor's degrees in journalism and religious studies from the University of Texas. I'm currently a PhD student in American history at Auburn University, where I study the history of prison chaplaincy in the South.
For the last four years, I've worked as a writing consultant for both undergrad and graduate students, ages 17–65. As a writing consultant, I worked with students to improve their writing skills through a non-directive, non-evaluative approach. Because of this, my approach as a tutor in writing and in history centers your particular, individual needs and questions as a student. I offer a free consultation meeting so that my lessons will suit your needs as a learner.
Outside of writing and history, I also offer tutoring in graphic design, including online and print design. I worked as the design editor for The Daily Texan, the most highly-awarded college newspaper in the country. I also completed two design fellowships with the Texas Tribune, a well-regarded nonprofit newspaper based in Austin.
I welcome any resources, suggestions, or questions from students or parents. I am easy to reach. Please contact me with any additional questions or to schedule your free consultative session!
