Bio

I have an Engineering degree from Columbia University and have always excelled in academics. I am also a Mom of three and a military spouse. I enjoy tutoring part-time in addition to classroom teaching and helping my own children with homework. Teaching others keeps my brain sharp.

I enjoy meeting students who are striving to improve themselves through education. Since I was in high school, I have tutored or mentored my peers and younger students. I have also taught in K-12 classrooms...

I have also taught in K-12 classrooms and have been a teaching assistant (TA) at the college level. I especially enjoy teaching math and science, but have experience in all primary subjects.

I believe everyone can learn any subject. Not everyone learns the same way or at the same pace. I look forward to getting know each student and helping them be successful.

Math and science were my strongest subjects in school. I was a "math prodigy" as a child and won an award in high school for a statewide math contest (the "MathCounts" contest). I went on to earn an Engineering degree from an Ivy League school and had a successful career in high tech before focusing on teaching. I love STEM subjects because I like solving problems using logic and creativity; and technology provides great hope for the future.
