I'm Cleve! I hold a strong academic background in the sciences, having earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). My interest in science was fueled by mentors who made learning thoughtful, interactive, and enjoyable. I later completed both my Master’s and Ph.D. in Science at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS), where I specialized in interdisciplinary research with a focus on environmental systems and data analysis. I bring this academic experience into my tutoring, always aiming to make complex scientific ideas accessible and engaging. I like to explain topics clearly and connect them to real-life situations to help students grasp the material more easily. My lessons usually include a mix of instruction, discussion, and practice, which I tailor to meet each student’s learning style and goals.
I’ve worked with students at both high school and college levels across subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Data Analysis. Many of the students I’ve supported needed help breaking down difficult material or preparing for exams and lab assignments. I’ve provided one-on-one sessions where I guide students through problem-solving techniques, clarify tricky concepts, and build study strategies that work for them. I also help with research and homework support when needed. Whether a student is aiming to boost grades, prepare for higher education, or just gain confidence in science, I adapt my approach to make sure they’re getting what they need from each session.
