Hi, my son just started the 4th grade and has been struggling with math. This will be his first time having a tutor, and it’s also my first time using Wyzant. I’m looking for someone who can help figure out which areas of math he needs the most help with, strengthen his skills, and help him become more confident in math. We’re interested in in-person tutoring. Please let me know if you have any availability and how you normally approach the first lesson with a new student. Thank you!

I’m reaching out because I’m looking for a tutor for my younger brother, who is going into his sophomore year of high school. He attends school in Long Beach, but we live in Huntington Beach.
He has a pretty busy schedule during the week, so we’re ideally looking for someone who can spend a few hours with him on Sundays to help him prepare for the week ahead. This would include reviewing upcoming homework and assignments, preparing for any tests or quizzes that week, helping with anything he’s having trouble understanding, and making sure he stays organized and on track.
His main subjects are Chemistry, Geometry, World History, English, and Spanish, so we’re hoping to find someone who is well-rounded and comfortable providing support across multiple subjects.
We’d prefer to have someone work with him in person in the Huntington Beach area and ideally build a consistent weekly routine throughout the school year.

I'm looking for an essay writing tutor for my son who will be starting 6th grade soon. He is a native English speaker and has no trouble communicating in English but also uses another language at home. It may be because of that, I feel he is slightly behind in academic English, especially in writing. He will be taking an exam that requires him to write short advanced essays. My goal is for him to build a strong foundation first and then progress to raise the level before his exam in November.
