Our family is seeking an experienced private tutor to work one-on-one with our 3rd-grade son to strengthen his English writing and grammar skills.
He is currently enrolled in a 50/50 Chinese immersion program. While he learns quickly, his split dual-language curriculum means his formal English grammar, sentence mechanics, and writing are below grade-level expectations. We want to focus on parts of speech, proper sentence structure, spelling, and basic paragraph construction.
Candidates must provide their own structured curriculum, worksheets, and teaching materials designed to systematically close these foundational gaps, as we do not have school-issued English writing textbooks.
Open to credentialed teachers or seasoned professional tutors. You must have a proven, pre-existing elementary writing curriculum or structured program with materials you can bring to sessions. Experience with dual-language immersion students is a major plus.

My son is currently in 6th grade and has been having some difficulty understanding some of the concepts in his science class.
For the first lesson, I would like him to work with you on his current 6th grade Science IXL assignments. He can share his screen and work through the questions with you. When he has difficulty with a question, I would like you to help explain the science concept behind it and make sure he understands it, rather than simply helping him get the answer.
If the first lesson goes well, we would be interested in continuing regularly and using his school materials, including IXL, worksheets, and other science assignments.
Would this be something you would be comfortable helping him with? Thank you.
