I am from China, and I am currently preparing for the Duolingo English Test.
My short-term goal is to reach 120 on the Duolingo English Test. After that, I plan to prepare for the TOEFL iBT, so I want to build stronger listening and speaking skills, not just memorize test answers.
I am looking for a tutor who can help me with:
diagnosing why my speaking and listening scores are lower,
timed DET speaking practice, especially Read, Then Speak, Listen, Then Speak, and Speak About the Photo,
feedback on logic, grammar accuracy, fluency, pronunciation, and natural expressions,
strategies that can also help me transition to TOEFL speaking and listening later.
I do not want only a general conversation class. I hope the lessons can focus on test-style practice, score improvement, and long-term listening and speaking development.

I'm Tesia, a graduate from Pitt's 2025 spring class. My MCAT is not booked, though I would like to be on track to take it sometime Sept or Oct. I am also wondering if the tutoring rates are flexible. I have a daughter with severe trauma (from foster care), ADHD and a debatable level 2 autism diagnosis (long story!). She was homeschooled for Kindergarten due to aggression issues and attended Bon Meade in Moon this year and repeated Kindergarten. She learns fairly well 1:1 but not in a group setting at all. We are working on figuring out the right meds for her, but I would like to have her tutored over the summer to keep her skills going. I would love reading for sure and if you do math, I would love that as well.
