I grew up in a rural area in China and didn't receive any formal basic English pronunciation training when I was little. I first started using English textbooks when I entered junior high school.
My main goals are: first, to learn standard American English phonetics and pronunciation properly - including how to pronounce each sound correctly, and master phonics so I can sound out new words by myself. I also want to work on correct spelling. Once I feel more confident with pronunciation and word-level skills, I'd like to move on to building proper sentences and improving my writing.
