A Few Tutor Qualifications
I have a credential to teach English.
I've took different kinds of summarized examinations all throughout my life. I've learned how to solve problems in the easiest and fastest way especially for this type of 60-minute, 60-question examination where time pressure is the enemy and that is thanks to my experience on math competitions. I can also give pointers regarding the preparation before taking the exam.

I teach multi-level English classes at a private English language school. I work with students of all levels and from all parts of the world. I will create individual lessons for your specific needs.
I have the necessary background to successfully help students succeed on the TEAS! I've taken the MCAT exam twice (received a 23 the first attempt and a 29 on the second attempt) and there is a strong correlation between the 2 tests. MCAT verbal section is extremely challenging, mirroring the reading and paragraph comprehension as well as the English section on the TEAS. MCAT Physical and Biological sciences also mirrors the Science section on the TEAS. I've tutored Math up to Calculus I, so I'm definitely prepared to tutor the TEAS math section. Lastly, I've helped a TEAS student before as she needed a certain score to enter the nursing program at CSN(I believe it was 80% in reading and 60% in the other sections)
My writing experience has been academic, in business and in personal writing for publication. My early grounding in writing was in a liberal arts university of high standards. That experience grounded me in many fine points of writing, underscored by the thorough use of the Perrin Smith handbook. Numerous professors in my liberal arts training were exceptionally helpful in critiquing my writing. One professor suggested I should go on to writing as a career. I enjoy writing, proofreading, presenting my writings for discussion and enjoy sharing with students interested in learning to write.
I have a Ph.D. in Operations Research, along with an MS in Statistics and a BS in Applied Mathematics. In my undergraduate and graduate studies, I exclusively used R for all computations. I have published three peer-reviewed conference papers which extensively use R. I use R for research work in my Federal job which is peer-reviewed by regulators and congressional staff. I am considered an expert in my Federal job in this area.
I received A's in writing in all grade levels, including college. I had honors senior literature in high school. I tested out of a full semester of English college courses (I received credit for them without taking them). I write well in other languages as well.
In college, I majored in film, focusing both on video production and film studies. I was a teaching assistant for two film studies classes, helping students write & research papers. I took many film studies classes, and received the Five College Film Studies certificate. For my undergraduate thesis project, I produced 90 page project about racism in early U.S. cinema. Additionally, I produced three short experimental found footage video essays for the project.
I majored in English Literature, taught high school English for close to a decade, and work as an editor. I've edited 2 full handbooks on social-emotional learning, along with an online meditation course. I often have friends and family requesting my support with editing, proofreading and clarifying written ideas.
I am a K-12 certified bilingual teacher.
