We have a daughter and are looking for an in-person tutor to help with English fundamentals, reading comprehension, and math.
She recently finished 6th grade and has an IEP. We'd like to help her rebuild those foundational skills before starting middle school.
Our main goal is to strengthen her reading skills, including reading comprehension, vocabulary, identifying the main idea, finding evidence in text, and building overall confidence with reading. She reads slowly, struggles to sound out unfamiliar words, and her spelling skills are weaker than her reading skills.
For math, we're not looking for 7th-grade math tutoring. Instead, we're looking for someone who can help rebuild foundational skills she may have missed in the early elementary years, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, number sense, and word problems.
We're looking for a patient, encouraging tutor who can focus on strengthening the fundamentals while helping her build confidence and develop a positive attitude toward learning.

Our son is 14. He is in accelerated math, taking Geometry/Trig as an 8th grader. He has mastered Scratch and has taken two brief lessons in Python. He would like to have a 1:1 tutor to teach him Python.
