I am looking for a writing tutor for my daughter. She is currently homeschooled and will be entering 6th grade soon. She is also a competitive athlete, so we are trying to build a strong but efficient academic plan alongside her training.
Our main goal is not basic writing or grammar, but higher-level skills, specifically:
•argument writing
•critical thinking
•analytical reading and discussion
•building clear, well-supported opinions
We are particularly interested in helping her develop the ability to think deeply, structure arguments, and express her ideas clearly—skills that will be important for applying to top private schools in the future.
Could a tutor let me know:
•whether they have experience working with students around her age
•how they would approach teaching argument writing and critical thinking
•if they could customize lessons to fit her goals
We are hoping to find someone who can challenge her thinking while still keeping her engaged and motivated.

Hi! May I ask what resources you use to teach SAT? My daughter has worked extensively with a tutor who primarily used Khan academy she just got her score back and it was a low 1250. Even though my daughter had scored a 1510 on a practice college board test right before. We are confused and lost. Please let me know if you’re able to help. Thank you.

I have two daughters who are 15 months apart, and I’m looking for an in-person tutor.
They are on track academically, but I would like to keep their minds active during off time, and I want to continue that through the summer and holidays as well. Right now though, I’m focused on this week specifically if possible. I’m looking for someone who can put together thoughtful, activity-driven programs for the week. Some structured but fun, where the girls are genuinely engaged. Both of my daughters are fluent in English and Spanish, so I’d love for the sessions to naturally incorporate both languages throughout.
Before anything, I’d just love a conversation to see if we’re a good fit and if your approach aligns with what I have in mind.
