Our goal is to help my daughter move toward a P3/Honors-level placement after the summer, especially in advanced English writing and analytical writing skills at her private school.
She will be entering 6th grade after the summer, but the academic level at her school is quite rigorous and is generally comparable to about an 8th grade level in public school.
We are looking for an experienced mentor who could guide her through higher-level writing techniques, assign writing homework, and provide detailed feedback during the following session. Ideally, we are hoping for one online class per week, one hour each session.

I have an 11-year-old daughter attending a highly competitive private school in the Bay Area, and we are looking for additional math support for her this summer.
Our long-term goal is to help her continue developing strong Honors-level problem solving and deeper mathematical thinking as she moves into middle school. She already has regular weekly math practice, so what we are especially hoping for is guidance from someone with a very strong academic background who can help challenge her thinking and build confidence with more advanced concepts.
In person is ideal for us.

My 9-year-old son suddenly developed a fascination with learning French ever since we visited Canada. He’s been learning a little bit on his own using Duolingo but would love for him to get some real lessons.

I'm looking for a private MCAT tutor ahead of my July 31 test date.
A little about my situation: my baseline score is a 489, and I've been enrolled in a Princeton Review online course for the past two weeks, but it's not working for me. It's too passive and non-interactive, and I learn much better with direct, engaged instruction. I'm also currently taking Organic Chemistry at Foothill College (Tues/Thurs afternoons), so I have some active science coursework happening alongside my MCAT prep.
I have about 10 weeks until my test date and I'm serious about making the most of them. Your message about improving your score in 6 weeks made me really hopeful. I'm looking to meet 2–3 times per week, around 2 hours per session. My availability is generally Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings, plus weekends, though I'm flexible.
I'm located at Stanford and would like to meet in-person, ideally in the Stanford library or somewhere on campus. I'd love to set up a brief intro call to see if we'd be a good fit.

I’m looking for some reading and phonics support for my son. He is finishing 1st grade this year.
He is a bright child and does well in math, and his reading comprehension is actually fairly good when someone reads with him or guides him. He also enjoys science and nonfiction topics like animals, space, and dinosaurs.
However, we’ve noticed that he struggles more with the foundational reading skills. His weak areas seem to be:
phonics
sounding out unfamiliar words
decoding longer words
syllables
spelling patterns and spelling confidence

I am looking for an in-person Chinese tutor for my son. He is currently 4.5 years old and was a native Chinese speaker and is also now fluent in English. He will be starting English-only school soon and I would like him to keep his Mandarin and also learn his characters.

My son is turning 4 in May and has been very curious and excited about reading, but we have struggled to find ways to make learning and slow progress feel fun. He knows to name letters, and some of the sounds, and we are trying to connect letters slowly with both sounds and each other, but want some expert guidance. We are looking for consistent positive opportunities to learn, and are eager to affirm and progress at home as well as in tutoring.
We know it may take time, but we also know we are not best equipped for this teaching, and appreciate your guidance and patience.
Some questions:
- What space/supply needs are there for lessons?
- Where is the preferred meeting location?

Our child has been stuggling with writing and organizing her work for a long time. although she reads and completes math quite well, she finds the middles school assignments to be overwhelming. She has an essay actually in her science class that she's struggling to finish and is very anxious about. We live near Mission Hill Middle School and would love it if a tutor could come to our home.
