My son recently transferred to Bishop Kenny as a freshman mid-semester, and we're looking for a tutor to help him get fully up to speed. He was homeschooled for most of his life, so while he's bright and hardworking, adjusting to a traditional school environment mid-year has its own learning curve. He's also a serious athlete, so his schedule is fairly compressed.
We're looking for someone to work with him one hour per evening across core subjects. He is conscientious and motivated. This is less about remediation and more about having a consistent presence to keep him on track and fill any gaps. Algebra is his biggest need right now, but honestly he just needs someone to help him prioritize across his demands. I'd like to start for a week in person and gauge success.
This would be in person at our home on the Southside of Jacksonville, near the Mayo Clinic.
