I’m looking for some Algebra 1 help for my 8th-grade daughter. She’s struggling with some of the foundational concepts and is starting to feel a little overwhelmed, so we’re hoping to find someone who can help break things down in a way that makes sense to her and build her confidence along the way.
We’d ideally like to meet in person.

I'm looking for a weekly 1:1 tutor for my, an 8th grader in Algebra 1 Honors.
What I want: someone who builds real conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategy that will carry him into Algebra 2 and beyond, not extra practice packets. He can often get the right answer without understanding why the method works, and that's what I want addressed. Math is the priority; chemistry may come up secondarily after a low quiz, but algebra is the reason I'm writing.

My children have recently switched schools where the curriculum is more rigorous and fast paced. They are currently in Honors Algebra 2 where they are struggling to remember some Algebra 1 concepts as it's been 2 years since they took it. We are looking for an in person tutor to work on homework and go through concepts with them as they work through this transition.

My daughter entered 8th grade and just started Algebra 1. She is in need of some reinforcement of concepts taught in class bc class time isn’t sufficient. Generally with Math, it takes her a little time to have new strategies sink in and needs repetition of a variety of problems to make it stick.

I had not performed well on my Algebra 1 EOC and have dragged it along to my junior year. I practically know barely any math beyond 6th grade and I’ve always had a hard time understanding it since there are no good math teachers in my school. I have my Algebra 1 EOC retake in September and though I’m trying to teach myself I still can’t wrap my head around it.
