About Erica:

I am an Austinite in my late 20's. I attended St. Austin's School (K-8) and St. Michael's Academy (9-12). I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering & Computer Applications from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Since graduating from St. Mary's University I have worked for City of Austin - Mayor & Council, Public Access Community Television, Sapling Systems along with tutoring and mentoring as a member of the East Austin Lions Club. Currently, I am completing an Alternative Teacher Certification program where I just finished my student teaching internship at Jackie's Private School (Manchaca, TX)and should be certified by May 2008. I thoroughly enjoy working with children of all ages and love to have fun and really understand what works best for the students I work with. Do you prefer visual, audio, or kinesthetic style of teaching or a combination? I am a very open and honest person. I like to do physical activities also, and as I mentioned before I played soccer while attending St. Mary's University. I was also hired as a soccer trainer for a pilot soccer program in North Austin this past summer (April-August 2007). We had a blast, working with children ages 3-10. I would like for you to open yourself up to the possibilities of making learning the best experience it can be each day. I love challenges and am always ready to learn from the student as well. Life is all about learning!
