I have worked in education all my life.
Initially I taught English, Math, Social Studies, Science and Art to elementary school students.
For the past 7 years I've taught basic reading and math skills to adults and also ESL to international adults in the Greenville area. I'm used to working with groups or one-on-one. I'm patient and understand the difficulties internationals experinece in learning English and adapting to a new culture. I would be happy to help you with this process. |

I have a bachelor's degree in education. I taught English, Math, Social Studies and Art in South Africa, grades 4 - 8, from 1972 until 1981. From 1983 until 1986 I studied early childhood development at UNISA (University of South Africa) and taught preschool children.

ESL/ESOL
|
I currently work for a literacy agency where I have been instrumental in helping develop an ESL curriculum for the international adult students we serve. I also teach ESL classes to these students.
During 2002/2003 I worked on a committee of The Adult Education Branch of the Greenville School District to develop a training program for ESL tutors. I helped present this training across the state of South Carolina.
