About
Matt: |
|
My name is Matt, a licensed educator with over 12 years experience teaching both Spanish and English. As an undergraduate, I attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where I majored in Spanish and Sociology, as well as a concentration in Latin American Studies. My graduate degree in Spanish is from Middlebury College, an immersion program in which you pledge to only listen, read, write and speak in the language that you are studying for the duration of each of the four summers you attend; this program is known as the most rigorous program of language study in the nation. During the last decade, I have also had the pleasure of leading students on trips and exchanges in Spain, Ecuador, and Argentina, and love to share all that I have learned with my students in the classroom.
My teaching style is clear and energetic and am confident in my ability to push students to achieve great things, while offering a lot of support along the way. Furthermore, my students describe me as easy to relate to, since outside of class we talk about everything from sports to music. Nevertheless, I always make it clear that while I am easy to talk to, my objective is to help my students succeed academically, to help them to be the best they can be. |

Student Reviews:
You'll be very pleased!!!
Matt:
Is an excellent Spanish tutor with lots of background in the subject area. Matt worked with my daughter for about 2 months and she loved every minute of it. He is knowledgeable, encouraging, smart and punctual. My daughter has even asked for homework assignments from him now, what teenager in their right mind asks for more work? He's just a great guy, very professional and I recommend him highly.
Plus, if my daughter would ever needed another Spanish tutor for whatever reason Matt is the only one I would choose.
Sincerely,
D. Meekins
