About Sarah:

Hello. I graduated from Duke University three years ago with a degree in English and Classical Languages (Latin and Ancient Greek). I believe (idealistically, but based on experience) that any student can overcome his/her struggles to become an inspired, capable learner.

I have been passionate about teaching since college, where I offered free Latin tutoring to undergraduate students. I did this both out of a desire to help students and a desire to develop my skills as an educator.

For the two years after college, I taught Latin to middle school students at a private school in Pennsylvania. My approach was child-centered and much of my instruction focused on grammar and English derivatives. My lessons were innovative and fun, but also rigorous.

I now live in Evanston. I am a full-time graduate student at UIC, working toward a master's degree and teacher certification in English and Latin.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and l welcome new opportunities to help students develop and learn.
