I have been trying to find a good place where I could learn Arabic. This is one language I really want to get myself familiar with. I have never studied Arabic before.

I am taking intensive Arabic (modern-standard) this summer at UCLA which starts June 24th. I really want to do well in the class and I have been told it will go very quickly (as it is 3 classes in 9 weeks). I am planning on going to AUC in Egypt for my masters so it is really important for me to do well and understand Arabic as much as possible so I can do well outside of a classroom setting. After the class is over I may be interested in having the tutor teach me some of the more colloquial language in Egypt.

I am interested in learning Arabic from a non-native speaker. I really would need to learn conversation from scratch. I'm hoping to understand video, newscasts, and be able to have a discussion in Arabic.
