There are 6 possible outcomes.

  1. candy bar and candy bar
  2. hard candy and hard candy
  3. gum and gum
  4. candy bar and hard candy
  5. candy bar and gum
  6. hard candy and gum

There are no other possible outcomes when selecting only two pieces of candy.
