About Aaron

Bio

I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a BA in History, but that's not all. I have some background in Education, Philosophy, Political Science, Literature, writing, reading, and just about anything else I could learn in college. I worked for the Alpha Scholars program at ACU. I was certified as a Level 2 Tutor through their Master Tutoring program. I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a BA in History, but that's not all. I have some background in Education, Philosophy, Political Science, Literature, writing, reading, and just about anything else I could learn in college. I worked for the Alpha Scholars program at ACU. I was certified as a Level 2 Tutor through their Master Tutoring program. The program focused on peer to peer tutoring with an emphasis on student responsibility. The students that I worked with were students with learning disabilities or first generation college students.

The way that I tutor now is very similar. I try to tutor myself out of a job. I try to empower the student to be able to complete any of their assignments without much, if any, assistance from the tutor. I will work from wherever the student is at and help them get to where they need to be. I will work to help make the student responsible for their own learning and own education/tutoring experience. I am willing to work with a students teachers in order to understand their curriculum and understand what is expected by the teacher in order to help the student meet and exceed those goals.

I will also work with the parents to help develop a way to make sure that the students are meeting and exceeding goals set by myself and his/her teacher(s). I am open to any questions that you have for me and am willing to sit down with parents to discuss any and all issues that is determined to be important.

Bottom line: I want your student to succeed and will do my best to make that happen.

I worked for the Alpha Scholars Program at ACU, where we often dealt with students with ADD/ADHD. I am extremely patient. I took classes in pedagogy and have some special education training in my background. I dealt with several students with ADD/ADHD on a volunteer basis, even tutoring a young lady with severe ADD for a year and a half who was struggling with writing. She is doing well now and I hear from her often.
