I have worked as a graduate research assistant and a lecturer of mechanics courses in a university environment. I began teaching my friends in my undergraduate years and then I had my own students. I learned that teaching is not a one way process, so I usually ask questions and urge my students to ask me questions during the lesson.

One of the most enjoyable parts of teaching is when I am trying to explain a cognitive topic in my engineering courses. In my Dynamics course, the conservation of angular momentum is a good example. The governing equations seem to be simple, but it is not easy to capture the big picture behind them. That’s why I prefer asking questions during the class.
Teaching does not end in the classroom; I urge my students to ask questions or discuss problems during my office hours and it is a great pleasure to help them.

Mechanical Engineering

I have experience teaching undergraduate-level Dynamics, Statics, Mechanics of Structures, Numerical Methods for Engineers, and Finite Element courses. I have been a TA and a lecturer for more than 10 years for these courses. For the Dynamics course, the objective is to give the ability to calculate the motion that results due to applied forces and moments and calculate the forces and moments that are necessary to result in prescribed motion characteristics. The covered topics are Dynamics of Particles and Rigid Bodies. Statics course covers; Force Systems, Equilibrium, Structures, Distributed Forces, Friction, and Virtual Work. Mechanics of Structures course covers; Stress, Strain, Constitutive Relations, Various Loadings, and Structures. Numerical Methods for Engineers course covers; Finding the roots of nonlinear equations, Approximation, Numerical integration and differentiation, Iterative methods, and Initial value problems. The finite element course covers; Direct Formulation, Minimum Total Potential Energy Formulation, Weighted Residual Formulation, 1-D and 2-D Elements, Analysis of 1-D and 2-D Heat transfer, and mechanics problems

An Amazing Tutor!!

I like the way he tutors, he makes sure that you understand the topic before moving to a different one. He draws great diagrams to help you visually understand the problem and he is really passionate about preparing you to ace your homework's or quizzes coming up. He definitely helped with mine!! The best tutor I have worked with on this platform and I will definitely be booking another session with Mr. Hakan soon!

Helpful and reliable

Hakan was able to assist in short notice. He tutored deformable bodies, a class required for a college mechanical engineering degree. He was able to better explain each problem so that the homework could be completed.
