Greetings, Thank you for considering me.
I am Native American from a pueblo in NM. I have a spectrum of experiences/careers,
which has allowed me to have a diversity of knowledge and skills.
My primary career is I'm an orthopedic surgical/physician Physician Assistant. Actually, medicine has been my primary career experience, having been a Navy corpsman, Marine medic, Army (National Guard) helicopter flight medic and battalion surgeon, and EMT.
I'm on a self-imposed sabbatical from medicine to pursue a teacher certification in
math and the sciences, to teach middle/high school students. In addition, I am a middle/high school coach in girls/boys basketball and golf. I attended the University of Albuquerque, Harvard University, University of Minnesota-Duluth, and the University of New Mexico.
I have been a long-term substitute teacher in the Albuquerque Public School system
for 5 years with an emphasis in math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, biology, physics, health sciences (anatomy & physiology), New Mexico history, media, and Native American history. Some of my other experiences are as an associate producer for a nationwide Native American radio talk program, producer/director for a live television talk program on public access, and a musician(percussionist). I've worked/taught/coached archery, having worked in archery retail. I am a nationally certified archery instructor through the U.S. National Archery Association, as well as a certified golf instructor through the U.S. Golf Instructors Association. I have been a Kellogg Fellow and member of the National Association of Physician Assistants and NM High School Coaches Association.
