Greetings, Thank you for considering me.
I am Native American from a pueblo in NM. I have a spectrum of experiences/careers,
which has allowed me to have a diversity of knowledge and skills.
My primary career is I'm an orthopedic surgical/physician Physician Assistant. Actually, medicine has been my primary career experience, having been a Navy corpsman, Marine medic, Army (National Guard) helicopter flight medic and battalion surgeon, and EMT.
I'm on a self-imposed sabbatical from medicine to pursue a teacher certification in
math and the sciences, to teach middle/high school students. In addition, I am a middle/high school coach in girls/boys basketball and golf. I attended the University of Albuquerque, Harvard University, University of Minnesota-Duluth, and the University of New Mexico.
I have been a long-term substitute teacher in the Albuquerque Public School system
for 5 years with an emphasis in math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, biology, physics, health sciences (anatomy & physiology), New Mexico history, media, and Native American history. Some of my other experiences are as an associate producer for a nationwide Native American radio talk program, producer/director for a live television talk program on public access, and a musician(percussionist). I've worked/taught/coached archery, having worked in archery retail. I am a nationally certified archery instructor through the U.S. National Archery Association, as well as a certified golf instructor through the U.S. Golf Instructors Association. I have been a Kellogg Fellow and member of the National Association of Physician Assistants and NM High School Coaches Association.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biology

My professional career is in the medical profession. I am a physician assistant, have a minor in biology/biochemistry in college, and my major was math. I have taught biology in high school and earth science in middle school. I have been an adjunct instructor at a PA school, in anatomy & physiology. I tutor many students; however, I seek Native American students to help them in their education, as I am Native American. Even though my zip code is out of town, I live in Albuquerque, on the northeast heights.

Elementary Math

I am a math tutor and substitute teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools with a focus in Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Algebra in middle and high schools.

Nursing

I am a physician assistant, with clinical and nursing experience. In addition, I have a history as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, being trained in nursing assistant and nursing care skills.
